Online retailer Shop Direct has announced plans to make job cuts at its site in Speke, Merseyside. The restructure will see some roles created and other roles merged. The net effect on employment is expected to be 100 jobs lost, though about 200 jobs are affected by the plans. The company confirmed that a consultation with trade union USDAW would begin immediately. Shop Direct has also confirmed that there will be redundancies as a consequence of the plans. The timeframe for the restructure has yet to be reported.
