Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Romanian subsidiary of the German car component manufacturer, Preh, has announced the creation of 350 new positions by the end of 2019 at its factories in Ghimbav and Iasi. As of February 2019, the two plants employ about 1,700 people. The company is looking for electromechanical installers, engineers, software programmers and car component assemblers.
Preh Romania produces electrical and electronic car components for Audi, Porsche, BMW and Daimler. The company will invest €20 million in 2019 and expects to reach a total workforce of 2,050 employees by the end of the year.
Previous restructurings took place in 2018 (190 jobs created) and 2017 (100 jobs created).
