Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Fast food chain Supermac's is to create 200 new jobs, with the opening of three new outlets in the Midlands and the South-East. The new stores are in Wexford, Waterford and Westmeath and it is understood most of the jobs will be full-time roles. Supermac's is also seeking planning permission for further developments in Letterkenny, Longford, Ennis and Portlaoise; if these developments go ahead, it is projected Supermac's will be hiring another 300 people in due course. The Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation has welcomed the jobs announcement.
Supermac's employs over 1,620 people across the country.
