PostNL has announced plans to create 400 jobs at its new parcel sorting centre in Dondrecht. The company is expanding due to the rapid growth of online shopping, as many webshops choose PostNL to sort and deliver their packages. According to a spokesperson for the company, in 2019 it will open three new parcel sorting centres across the Netherlands. Local authorities have welcomed the announcement. The centre in Dondrecht, which will be one of the most sustainable logistics buildings, is expected to be fully operational in August 2019.
Previous restructurings took place in January 2019 (500 jobs created) and January 2018 (2,000 jobs were lost, while 1,600 created).
