Lidl Italia, the Italian division of German supermarket chain Lidl, announced the opening of 40 new stores in Italy in 2019 and the hiring of 2,000 new staff.
The announcement of an investment plan of over €350 million in the development of the company's sales network in Italy was made by the managing director of Lidl's real estate development and by Lidl Italia's finance managing director during the launch of the new Lidl sales point in Viale Ergisto Bezzi in Milan.
Today, Lidl has 620 stores in Italy, and employs about 15,000 people.
