Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Hollister Incorporated, the US-based global manufacturer of medical devices and equipment, is to create at least 260 new jobs in Kaunas by the end of 2020. The company is setting a new manufacturing plant in Kaunas free economic zone; the plant should start operations in the 2nd quarter of 2019. Currently Hollister Lietuva employs around 40 employees. According to the management, the number of employees should grow to 140 in 2019, and should reach 300 by the end of 2020. The company’s investment in the new plant will constitute around €50 million.
