Description

Santander Bank Polska, part of the Spanish multinational commercial bank and financial services company, has announced that it will implement a collective dismissal programme which will affect up to 1,400 employees (about 11% of the bank’s total workforce). In February, the bank will negotiate the conditions of the programme with the local trade unions, and the dismissals will be carried out by the end of 2019. The restructuring will affect all branches across Poland as well as the company’s headquarters located in Warsaw. The programme aims at rationalising business processes and improving financial effectiveness. The bank is the third largest in the country and comprises both the former BZ WBK bank and the retail part of Deutsche Bank Polska, which Santander took over in 2018.
