Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
State-owned aviation support company Swedavia is reducing staff by 125. The reductions primarily affect employees at airports in Stockholm and Gothenburg, but some administrative personnel will also be affected. The reductions are part of an ongoing process to increase efficiency and reduce internal costs. According to spokesperson for the company, Swedavia needs to adapt its operations to changing customer needs and traveller-patterns. Swedavia aims to adapt to industry long-term needs and secure future operations. The reductions will be completed before the summer of 2019. Swedavia will initiate negotiations with trade unions and expects to complete negotiations and reductions on schedule.
A previous restructuring took place in 2015, when 102 jobs were lost.
