Meyer Turku, owner and operator of the Turku Shipyard, is expanding. The company has announced that it will recruit between 100 and 200 new employees during 2019. The first round of recruitment will start in the third week of January. Meyer is working on two big cruisers, Costa Cruises Costa Smeralda and Carnival Cruises Carnival XL1, and the shipyard is fully booked until 2024. A spokesperson for the company has stated that production at the shipyard will grow significantly during the upcoming years, enabling Meyer to offer longer contracts than before.
The ERM has previously reported on the expansion of Meyer Turku's operations in May 2017, when the company announced the recruitment of 500 new employees, and in September 2016, when the company announced the recruitment of 350 new employees.
