Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Opel Manufacturing Poland has announced plans to create 300 new positions at its production facility in Tychy in mid-January 2019. The company is going to implement a third shift as the production of a new model of petrol engines will be launched.
Opel belongs to the France-based PSA group. As of December 2018, Opel employs over 3,000 people in Poland and 500 people at its unit in Tychy. In 2018, the company launched a voluntary departure programme in three phases (February, April and October), which affected 660 jobs in total.
