Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Arosa Mobilia from Limbuš, the manufacturer of furniture, kitchens and bathrooms, which has been in a severe financial crisis for some time, has filed for bankruptcy in December 2018. About 100 workers went on strike at the end of October due to unpaid social contributions and annual leave, and delays in payment of salaries. The strike was interrupted at the beginning of November for the completion of some works, but it did not help the company to survive. The Maribor court appointed the insolvency administrator. About a hundred employees will lose their jobs.
