Crawshaws butchers which operate a chain of shops across the North of England have announced that 35 outlets and one distribution centre will close with the loss of 354 jobs. The business, which was founded in Yorkshire in 1954 entered administration at the end of October 2018, at which point it was reported that more than 600 jobs were at risk. Administrators have confirmed that 19 of the chain's profitable stores would continue to operate, preserving 261 jobs. The future of these remaining jobs is far from certain with the administrators commenting that the business still needs to find a buyer.
