Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Genesys, a US firm that specialises in Artificial Intelligence technology, has announced plans to create 200 new jobs in Galway over the next three years.
The new roles are described as senior and highly skilled technical roles spanning R&D, machine learning, software engineering, user experience and data science. According to a spokesperson for the company, Genesys is working closely with the third-level sector to provide job opportunities for graduates with technical and data science qualifications.
As of November 2018, Genesys employs 3,000 people and its technology is used by 11,000 companies across 100 countries.
