Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Trimo company will close the production of steel constructions in Trebnje which will make 45 workers redundant. The company offers complete building envelope solutions (facades and roofs), steel constructions and modular space solutions. The downsizing of production is part of a new business strategy accepted by the company’s owner, Polish company European Architectural Systems. During the negotiations, trade union succeeded to limit the number of redundant workers to 45. The dismissed workers will receive higher severance payments than legally required and assistance in job searching. Trimo now employs 378 workers.
