Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
US transport and logistics company XPO Logistics, that acquired the major French logistics company Norbert Dentressangle in 2015, has rented a large warehouse in Saint-Jean-de-Linières (Maine-et-Loire) near Angers, resulting in the creation of at least 150 jobs by 2021. This new logistic centre will work exclusively with the do-it-yourself stores network Leroy Merlin located in the West of France. XPO will start its activities by Januray 2019, with 35 employees coming from the XPO site at Chemillé-en-Anjou, before progressively recruiting new employees. XPO expects to recruit 50 employees in 2019. By 2021, about 150 positions will be created.
