Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Japanese producer of automotive components SumiRiko Automotive Hose Poland, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Riko Group, has announced that it will create 188 new jobs at its production facility in Sosnowiec between March 2019 and March 2020. The company expects that it will increase its workforce to 162 jobs by March 2019; another 188 jobs will be created by March 2020. The factory in Sosnowiec was launched in October 2017and is specialized in the production of fuel and water lines and air conditioning products.
Sumitomo Riko Group operates at 130 locations in 23 countries employing over 10,000 people around the world. The group produces automotive components, including anti-vibration rubber products, hoses, sound controlling products, interior equipment, as well as general industrial products. SumiRiko has been operating in Poland since 1999; as of October 2018, the company has three production facilities in the country: Wolbrom, Zagórze and Sosnowiec.
