Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Varroc Lighting Systems (VLS), supplier of exterior lighting for passenger cars and commercial vehicles, has opened a fifth production hall at its Rychvald factory in the Czech Republic. The business expansion is to offer work to 200 new employees with both secondary and tertiary education. Once the new hall is fully operational, Rychvald’s headcount will rise to around 800.
Varroc Lighting Systems employs more than 3,000 workers in the Czech Republic. Varroc also has production plants in China, India, Mexico, Morocco, Turkey and Vietnam, as well as technical centres around the globe. The company previously restructured in 2016, when it created 400 jobs in its three sites in the Czech Republic (Nový Jičín, Rychvald and Ostrava), and in 2015, when it created 200 jobs in the same sites.
