Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Polish producer of meat and poultry products Animex, a subsidiary of Smithfield Group, has announced that it will create 1,000 jobs at its new poultry slaughterhouse in Koryta near Łęczyca, Poland. The unit is expected to be operational at the beginning of 2019. As the source reports, the company is looking for production staff, including machine operators, as well as financial controllers, maintenance specialists, technicians, quality controllers, warehouse staff and logistics specialists. The investment was initiated in 2016 by Pini Polonia, a meat company, which was acquired by Animex in 2017.
Animex was founded in 1951 as a state-owned enterprise. Currently the company is part of the Smithfield Group, a global food company.
