Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Western Union, a company operating in international money transfer services, is expanding its activities in Lithuania and will create around 190 new jobs at the global operations centre in Vilnius in 2019. According to the management, the company plans the number of employees to grow by 10% in 2019. Currently the global operations centre in Vilnius employs 1,900 employees, which constitutes one fifth of total employees worldwide. Western Union is one of the largest global payment services providers with a combined network of over 500,000 agent locations in 200 countries and territories.
