Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Seafood processor Seachill has announced plans to create 120 new jobs at its site in Grimsby. The new jobs follow a major contract with the supermarket chain Waitrose. The roles will be permanent and some will be offered in four hours shifts, which according to the employers will result in more workers with childcare issues being able to apply. The roles are currently being advertised and it is expected that the first successful applicants will be in place within about two weeks from the time of the announcement.
