Description
The company Casinò di Campione d'Italia started the procedures to dismiss all its 482 employees.
The company was declared bankrupt on 27 July 2018, following a long period of financial difficulties. Casinò di Campione d'Italy, fully owned by the municipality of Campione d'Italia, was the biggest European casino and the largest employer in the small city, an Italian enclave on Swiss soil.
The start of the collective dismissal procedure was communicated to trade unions, which was expected, since it is a necessary step to allow workers to benefit from the 'social shock absorbers'.
