Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Budget airline Jet2 has announced plans for further expansion across the UK. This follows a similar announcement in 2017, and confirms the continued success of the business. According to reports, 2,000 jobs will be created across the UK and a further 1,000 jobs will be created elsewhere in Europe. Positions available include pilots, cabin crew and ground crew.
The information available suggests that the jobs will be spread across the nine UK airports at which Jet2 operates. Local reports provide some information on where the jobs will be located, including 300 across Glasgow and Edinburgh, 500 at Manchester, 200 at Newcastle, 50 at Belfast international and 350 at Leeds Bradford. It is not certain when all the jobs will be filled, though the recruitment process is underway as of September 2018.
