Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Retailer Argos has announced plans to create 130 new jobs at its distribution centre in Stafford. The jobs are permanent positions and there is a range of full time and part time roles available. The positions will be in customer support answering queries from customers in relation to orders, products and deliveries. The centre handles queries for Argos products as well as for Habitat and Sainsbury's TU clothing, which are avilable via the Argos website. The time frame for filling the jobs has not been specified, though there are open recruitment days in September 2018, suggesting that the appointments are imminent.
