Description
The Desmazières group has announced 116 positions job cuts in its 224 stores (under the brand Chauss'Expo). The positions will be cut by mid-December, including about 30 at the headquarters of Lesquin; there 11 positions will be created in the online sales department. A total of 35 stores out of 224 will be closed. In 2017, the group had already launched a social plan resulting in the closure of several stores and the dismissal of 88 employees. In response to this announcement, the three trade unions FO, CGT and CFDT had called on employees to stop work on 19 September. About 50 employees have demonstrated at the entrance to the headquarters, while 20 stores were involved in strikes, walkouts and leafleting operations.
