Consulating company PA Consulting has announced plans to create 400 new jobs in Belfast. The business which specialises in software engineering, data analytics and security has chosen to locate these in Belfast because of easy access to a highly skilled labour pool, underpinned by the city's universities. Government investment grants of more than 4 million GBP (about €4.5 million as of September 2018) will help support the job creation. Reportedly, average salaries for the jobs will be in the region of 35,000 GBP (about €39,000). It is expected that the jobs will be created over a five year period. Recruitment is reportedly underway with 40 positions already having been offered.
Worldwide, PA Consulting employs about 2,600 people.
