Description
State Forestry Enterprise, a state-owned enterprise which organises and co-ordinates the activities of forest regeneration, maintenance, protection and rational use of forest resources intends to dismiss 157 employees in different regions of Lithuania by 1 January 2019. The main cause of the dismissals is the reorganisation of the state forest sector in Lithuania. The aim of the reorganisation was to consolidate the state forest enterprises into one state forest governance enterprise. At the beginning of 2018, 42 state forest enterprises and the State Forestry Enterprise were merged into a single state enterprise. According to the management, 157 employees who did not agree to work under the changed conditions will be dismissed by the 1 January 2019. Currently State Forestry Enterprise employs 3,513 employees.
