Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
MS Maritime, a company engaged in manufacturing of passenger and cruise ships, intends to create at least 155 new jobs in Vilnius by the end of 2020. Currently the company employs 95 employees. MS Maritime has two shareholders: Meyer Werft, which is one of the world's largest ship construction companies, and German metal processing company Stengel GmbH. MS Maritime was set up in 2016 and is rapidly expanding in Lithuania: around 40 new jobs will be created in Vilnius by the end of 2018, another 115 jobs will be created by the end of 2020. According to the management, the financial situation of the company is very good, having already orders until the year 2027.
