Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Finnish manufacturer of electronic components Murata Electronics, part of Japanese Murata Manufacturing group, is expanding its business in Finland. The company invests €42 million in the expansion of its production capacity in Vantaa. A new production building of approximately 16,000 square meters will be constructed by the end of 2019. The company is planning to hire some 150-200 new employees to the factory during 2018-2019.
According to the company, the global demand for MEMS sensors, used in applications such as car safety and pacemakers, is expected to grow.
Murata Electronics had 894 employees in 2017.
