Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The company Gulventreprise Danmark, the largest company in Denmark within floor covering, went bankrupt on Thursday 16 August. It results in the closure of its sites in Brøndby and Kolding. The closure will cause 100 redundancies, 55 in Kolding and 45 in Brøndby. The direct reason for the closure is a deficit of DKK 18 million (€ 2.4 million). The employee representative expressed optimism for the redundant employees, as the floor business lacks employees with their competencies.
