Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Polish producer of automotive components Groclin has announced that it will cut its employment by about 45% at its production facilities in Grodzisk Wielkopolski and Karpicko, what implies that about 321 employees will be dismissed through a collective dismissal programme. The programme will be carried out by the end of 2018, and the conditions of the programme will be negotiated with the local trade union.
Groclin was founded in 1977; currently, the company has six production facilities and four design offices across Poland and Germany, employing 1799 people. Groclin specializes in the production of car seats and seat covers for the biggest automotive industry companies.
