Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
German online clothing retailer Zalando has announced that it will create 1,000 jobs at its new distribution centre in Głuchów near Łódź, Poland. The company is partnered with logistics company DHL Supply Chain in the project, which is expected to become operational before the end of 2018, but the recruitment process has been already launched. The centre with an area of 130,000 m2 will supply articles to clients in 17 European countries.
Zalando was established in 2008 and currently operates in 15 European countries and also worldwide with spin-offs and subsidiaries. Zalando employs about 14,000 people worldwide. Since 2017, the company has had two distribution centres in Poland (Olsztynek and Gryfino).
