Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Customer service business Ventrica has announced plans to create 200 new jobs. The positions will be added at its premises in Southend-on-Sea, where the company already employs 450 people. The site provides supports for its customers via phone and webchat channels and is looking to fill a variety of roles from management to customer service advisers. The business previously expanded in 2017 and requires the new roles to support increased demand for its activities. The new jobs are expected to be in place by the end of September 2018.
