Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Polish producer of frozen fruit and vegetable Masfrost, a subsidiary of Top Farms group, has announced that it will close down its production facility in Tolkmicko near Elbląg, Poland. As a result, all 144 employees will be dismissed through a collective dismissal programme which will be launched in August 2018 and carried out by the end 2018. The source reports that redundant employees will receive severance pay.
Masfrost is a part of Top Farms group, which produces foodstuff as well as raw materials and feedstock for the agricultural and food processing industry. Currently, Masfrost has two production facilities in Tolkmicko and Ziębice.
