Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Midlands based shop fitting firm Alan Nuttall Partnership has announced that it will be cutting 200 jobs. The company, which fits shop interiors for a range of high street clients, currently employs around 500 staff at two sites in the Midlands; 400 in Dudley and 100 in Hinckley. According to a spokesperson for the firm, the decision to cut jobs reflects the wider problems affecting the retail sector, and allows the business to continue trading. The business had previously cut 84 jobs earlier in 2018. There is no information as to when the latest cuts will take effect.
