Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Financial Services firm FinTrU has announced plans to create 600 new jobs in Northern Ireland. The jobs will be added over a five year period and will be supported by government investment of GBP 5.6 million (€6.28 million). The company has expanded rapidly since being founded about five years ago. Of these new jobs around half will be based in Belfast and the other half will be based in Derry / Londonderry. The news of the expansion into the north west of the province has been especially welcomed by local politicians, given the long history of high unemployment in the area.
In 2017, it announced the creation of 90 jobs at its Belfast headquarters.
