Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The union of municipalities in the Ile-de-France region called "Autolib 'Vélib' Métropole" decided, on June 21, to terminate the public service delegation with the Bolloré group to provide a car-sharing service. The Bolloré group has undertaken, after negotiating with the trade unions, to reclassify - as far as possible - the 267 employees concerned, or to dismiss them. About 300 indirect jobs are also concerned. The car-sharing service will stop on 31 July. According to a trade union official, every employee will know if he is fired or reclassified on 31 August.
