Description
McBride, which manufactures household and beauty products, has announced plans to cease manufacture of aerosol products in the UK, which will result in the closure of its site in Hull. The decision will result in the loss of 117 jobs. The plans are still subject to the statutory consultation period, though given the financial performance of the company, it would seem that alternatives to the proposals are unlikely and the consultation will mainly concern itself with support for those worker affected. The closure is expected to be completed by spring 2019.
