Description
Swedish media group Aller Media will conduct 100 lay-offs in the summer of 2018, half of which affecting journalists. The goal is to save SEK 110 milion (€1,073 milion). CEO Bodil Ericsson Torp says that the savings are a response to reduced revenues in the print press segment.
According to the trade union chairman of the Journalist League of Aller Media, there are no retirement offers and the notice will be applied as soon as possible.
Aller Media has offices in both Stockholm and Malmö, and publishes magazines and weekly newspapers such as Allers, The Year, Swedish Women's Magazine, Elle and Café. The planned measure is affecting employees in both locations.
