Heron Foods, a retail chain specialised in convenience, frozen and chilled foods, has announced that it will recruit 500 staff as it plans to open 30 shops in England and Wales by the end of 2018. The HR manager of Heron Foods said that the new jobs range from management roles to senior and part-time sales assistants.
Heron Foods traditionally operated in the north of England but it is currently expanding across England and Wales. It has 3,800 employees working in its 255 shops and its support centre in Melton, Yorkshire.
In August 2017 the company was taken over by B&M European Value Retail, which also owns the discount retail chain B&M operating in the UK and Jawoll, a chain of discount shops in Germany.
