Description
Opel Manufacturing Poland has announced that it will launch the second phase of voluntary departure programme which will affect about 300 jobs in Opel’s factories located in Tychy (25 jobs) and Gliwice (275 jobs) by the end of June 2018. The programme will be opened between 23th April and 11th May 2018. Redundant workers will receive severance pay according to their seniority. Reducing the employment capacity is aimed at adjusting Opel’s workforce to current production levels; a two shifts system was restored in the factory in Gliwice in February 2018. The first phase of the programme was implemented at the beginning of 2018, resulting in the redundancies of 190 workers.
Opel belongs to France-based PSA group. Currently, Opel employs 3,370 people in Poland.
