Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Technology Company Telent has announced plans to create 100 new jobs after securing a new contract with Highways England. Telent will install new technology and manage the 'smart' motorways using fibre optic technology which connects to CCTV cameras and overhead road signs. The business already employs around 420 people at its head office in Warwick, where the new jobs will be based. Local MP welcomed the creation of the new jobs and called for greater investment in the country's infrastructure.
