The German wind energy group Siemens Gamesa has announced it will cut 213 jobs in Germany by November 2019 due to internal restructuring. Mainly affected will be the sites in Hamburg and Bremen. However, an exact distribution of job cuts has yet to be announced. Job reductions will be as socially acceptable as possible. Furthermore, Siemens Gamesa will try to avoid operational terminations.
In 2017, Siemens Gamesa had already announced the loss of 6,000 jobs worldwide, which is a quarter of its total global workforce (24,000).
Currently, Siemens Gamesa has 1,900 employees in Germany.
