Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
American online retailer Amazon has announced that it will create over 1,000 jobs at its new distribution centre in Sosnowiec within the next few months. The centre will be officially launched in summer 2018. The company is looking for blue-collar workers, IT, HR, financial and logistics specialists as well as engineers. Special training for hired employees will be provided in other European units of Amazon.
Amazon, the world’s largest e-commerce company, with headquarters in Seattle, US, currently employs around 566,000 employees worldwide. Amazon has been operating in Poland since 2014. In Poland the company has three distribution centres, a development centre in Gdańsk and an Amazon web services in Warsaw.
In November 2017, the Polish branch of the Group has announced the creation of 1,000 new jobs in the country.
