Description
Babcock International Group, a multinational engineering company, has announced further job losses at the Rosyth dockyard. The business had announced the loss of 250 jobs in November 2017, though following further review of its operations, an additional 150 job cuts have been announced. The affected roles are understood to be managerial and support positions. There will now follow a statutory period of consultation between unions and management. Local MSP called on the company to use the consultation period to explore alternatives to contemporary redundancies.
