Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Charity Tomorrow's People has announced plans to close following a substantial decline in its funding. The move puts 135 jobs at risk of redundancy. The charity is aimed at helping long-term unemployed people back in to work and had been receiving funding through the Government's flagship Work Programme. However, this payment-by-results model has not generated the revenue expected by the charity, and staff numbers fell from 195 to 135. The announcement of the closure does not set out when it will take effect.
