Steel company Severfield has announced plans to cut 70 jobs from its site at Lostock, near Bolton. The company, which has been involved in high profile projects such as the O2 arena, said that the decision was due to a change in demand and added that it intended to carry out some of the work at its site in Dalton, North Yorkshire. The site at Lostock currently employs 250 people. The company has said that redeployment within the group is a possibility for affected employees. There is no information available as to when the job cuts will take effect.
