Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Passenger airline Jet2 has announced plans to expand its workforce at East Midlands airport. The company will create 75 new jobs, which will bring its total headcount at the airport to around 600. The jobs, which are being created for various roles including cabin crew and baggage loaders, will help the airline meet growing demand. New flights are planned for the holiday season to destinations in Turkey, where the holiday market is returning following recent political unrest. There is no information as to when the new jobs will be available, though it is expected that recruitment will be complete by the summer of 2018.
