Description
Meat supplier Russell Hume has entered administration and announced 266 redundancies with immediate effect. The company, which is based in Derby with sites in six UK locations, had been at the centre of a scandal about food standards. As a result of the revelations the company had lost contracts with many major restuarants and pub groups. At the time the redundancies were announced, the producer employed 302 workers. It is expected that eventually all jobs will be lost, though the administrators are currently trying to find a buyer for the business and its remaining assets.
