Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Hella, the German manufacturer of lighting technology and electronics products for the automotive industry, intends to create up to 250 new jobs in Kaunas free economic zone by 2020. The company is setting up a production plant in Kaunas and has already started its first stage of development. Hella Lithuania has already employed so far 40 employees; and around 10 new employees are hired every month. In the summer 2018 the plant will start the production of sensors, actuators and control modules for automotive industry.
In total, four development phases are planned in Kaunas free economic zone. In 6 or 7 years, the number of employees in Hella Lithuania is expected to reach 2,000.
The Hella group has 38,000 employees worldwide. The company has a total of 13 plants, located in Brazil, China, Germany, India, Mexico, Romania and the USA.
