European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Medtronic, an international manufacturer of medical equipment, has announced the closure of its facility in Opglabbeek. In total between 380-400 employees are at risk of dismissal. The facility was mainly responsible for distribution and logistics. Since a major client of the company decided to take care of their own distribution and logistical needs the facility in Opglabbeek has seen a significant reduction in activity. Some employees may be offered a transfer to a facility in The Netherlands but at the time of reporting more concrete plans have not been communicated.
